Export Quality Pigeon Peas / Tuvar (White & Red)

The pigeon pea is known by numerous names such as “tropical green pea”, gungo pea in Jamaica, “gandul” in Puerto Rico,’tuvar’, ‘toor’ or ‘arhar’ in India, ‘red gram, and gandule bean.

We provide high quality Mozambique pigeon peas to the local and international market. We source them from small holder family growers in the country. We mainly source our Mozambique pigeon peas from Zambezia and Nampula provinces which are the most populated in the country.

The pigeon pea is a perennial legume from the family, Fabaceae, and its seeds have become a common food grain in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The high protein content of pigeon pea seeds also makes the crop an excellent variety of livestock feed. The green fodder of pigeon pea also has a protein content of 10 to 15 percent; while its straw, husks and screenings can be used to provide roughage.
